PROJECTS :: ELECTRONIC Musical INSTRUMENT
The following is a project I am developing for Tae Hong Park's Performance Systems class in the Music Department at Tulane (Spring 2007). This is the original proposal which changed significantly during a class brainstorm. I will update the site as development progresses and the design is locked down.The Tilter
Idea:
Tilting oval board with custom tilt switch (nails and ball bearing), FSRs in the hand placement, switches/buttons and LED for device feedback. The board will have a hemispherical pivot point on the bottom so that it can be rocked, moving the ball bearing around the custom switch. See drawing below.
Schedule:
13-15 Apr: secure materials, begin physical build
16-19 Apr: Identify sensors needed, purchase and begin prototyping the hardware
20-24 Apr: Begin Programming
25-30 Apr: Debugging and final hardware build
1 May: Present instrument
